Porcelain Veneers: Comprehensive Coverage for Chips, Cracks, and Stains

Chipped, cracked, or stained teeth can impact the natural beauty of your smile. Fortunately, porcelain veneers offer an effective solution. These thin porcelain shells are bonded to the front surface of teeth and conceal minor cosmetic imperfections beneath. Dr. Arlene Caringal has been working with a local laboratory for many years to design and fabricate veneers. Each restoration is expertly crafted to complement your smile and unique facial features. Veneers can typically be placed within just a few weeks of the initial appointment at our Toronto or Scarborough, ON, office, allowing patients to achieve their dream smile faster than ever before.

Are You a Good Candidate for Veneers?

Porcelain veneers combine the results of orthodontia, teeth whitening, and dental bonding all in one. As such, you may be a candidate for veneers if you are struggling with:

Dental Stains

Porcelain veneers can cover deeper intrinsic stains that cannot be addressed with teeth whitening.

Misshapen Teeth

If you have teeth that are misshapen, porcelain veneers can improve the symmetry of your smile.

Disproportionately Small Teeth

If one or more of your teeth are disproportionately small, porcelain veneers can improve their size and prominence.

Chips and cracks

While dental bonding can address minor chips and cracks in your smile, porcelain veneers offer more comprehensive coverage. In addition, they are stain-resistant and longer-lasting.

In order to qualify for veneers, you must have enough healthy enamel to support these restorations. If you have experienced enamel erosion, we can work with you to find an alternative solution.

Your Initial Consultation

During your consultation, we will examine your smile and review your goals and expectations for treatment. We encourage you to come prepared with questions, and we will take ample time to address any concerns. To ensure you feel confident about undergoing treatment, we can share before and after images of previous patients and even create a wax-up model for you to try on.

What to Expect during the Process

If you decide to proceed with treatment, we can prepare your teeth for veneers. This involves removing a small portion of enamel from the surface of the teeth to accommodate the restoration. We can then take impressions of your smile, which are sent to our partner lab. Over the next one to three weeks, a ceramist will carefully manufacture the veneers out of high-quality dental porcelain. This material mimics the sheen and translucency of natural enamel for beautiful results.

To prepare your teeth for veneers, we need to remove the top layers of enamel.

Placing the Veneers

Before bonding the veneers in place, we will check the fit of each and make any necessary adjustments. If no modifications are needed, we can secure the veneers to the surface of your teeth with a special dental cement, revealing your beautifully enhanced smile
